Workshops

Kirklinton Hall & Gardens

2 day Wedding Photography

training workshop

14th & 15th May 2025

This workshop is aimed at everyone. Whether you are a full time photographer looking for a boost of creativity or someone who is looking to branch out into wedding photography and wanting to learn the skills needed to approach the business side of photography or the practical side of posing and directing couples. During this workshop I will demonstrate my approach to shooting a wedding day.

Join us for an unforgettable couple of days hosted at my home, Kirklinton Hall & Gardens, in Cumbria. We're partnering with the fabulous Diane from Butterfly Road Floral Design. Although this workshop will be filled with beautiful styling, giving you plenty of material for portfolio worthy photos, this workshop is aimed at learning as I get down to the nitty gritty of posing, directing, marketing and planning during a wedding day.

The focus of the workshop is on you and your potential. It is aimed at expanding your skills and breaking through your limitations the world is your oyster.

You have the option of attending 1 or both days of the workshop. Each day we will focus on something different. The two days are a blend of hands-on shooting and theory based learning

Reignite your love for photography, without the pressures of a real wedding in the most beautiful setting .

Our Team

Kirklinton Hall & Gardens

Kirklinton isn’t just a stunning backdrop—it’s my home. Living here, I see how the light changes throughout the day, how the seasons transform the landscape, and how the ruin’s timeless beauty provides an ever-evolving canvas for creativity. Every stone archway, and overgrown corner tells a story, offering endless opportunities to play with composition, light, and texture. Hosting the workshop here isn’t just about teaching photography; it’s about sharing the magic of this place, inviting others to see it through their own lens, and capturing the raw, romantic beauty that makes Kirklinton so special.

Butterfly Road Floral Design

Diane from Butterfly Road Floral Design brings a deep understanding of the space and its unique character. Having worked at Kirklinton many times, she has created breathtaking arrangements in and around the ruin, enhancing its wild beauty with her signature style. Diane specialises in using British-grown blooms, working sustainably to craft seasonal, nature-inspired designs that feel organic and perfectly in tune with Kirklinton’s historic and atmospheric setting. Her expertise makes her an invaluable part of the upcoming workshop, where she’ll create stunning florals that harmonise with the landscape, embracing the romance and raw elegance of the surroundings.
